หลังจากที่ Google เปิดให้ใช้งาน Shortlink ใน url : goo.gl มาตั้งแต่ปี 2009
ประกาศล่าสุดจาก Google วันที่ 30 มีนาคม 2561 ทาง Google ได้แจ้งประกาศหยุดให้บริการ Short link โดยจะให้ไปใช้บริการ Firebase Dynamic Links (FDL) หรือบริการอื่นแทน
โดยตั้งแต่ 13 เมษายน 2561 User ใหม่ หรือ User ที่ยังไม่เคยใช้และทำ Short Link จะไม่สามารถใช้งานย่อลิ้งได้
แต่ User ที่ใช้งานอยู่ก็ยังสามารถเพิ่มลิ้งได้ปกติ และจะปิดให้ใช้งาน ในวันที่ 30 มีนาคม 2562 เป็นต้นไป
ส่วนลิ้งที่แอดไปก่อนหน้าก็ยังสามารถทำงานได้ปกติ
